WHAT WAS THE GENESIS OF STARTING DESIGNER GARAGE DOORS ? Having worked in the industry for some time , I was determined to redefine the garage door experience in a more thoughtful way . I genuinely care about providing an elevated customer-centric experience , versus a transactional relationship , while offering quality products and service I can deliver confidently .
WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON MISCONCEPTION WHEN IT COMES TO GARAGE DOORS ? That garage doors are just garage doors ! They are such a critical part of one ’ s home and an important investment to not overlook . They help convey a story about the home ’ s architecture , the way people live , and are meant to aid in the daily comings and goings of our busy modern lives .
WHAT DOES THE INITIAL DOOR DESIGN PROCESS LOOK LIKE ? When working with a homeowner , we typically start with aspirational imagery and an understanding of the client ’ s current home aesthetic and functional needs . Then , we ’ ll discuss budget along with finishes and materials . We closely follow design trends and innovative technologies which can truly inform customization . Additionally , we work quite closely with an array of talented architects , and our work can get super technical — which I love ! A challenge is certainly welcomed , and in the end , I enjoy seeing how the doors ultimately enhance a home . There is a great degree of thoughtfulness and precision in our daily work , from the design to install .
WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO ? I find it incredibly fulfilling to work with people . As the founder , I have a hand in just about every phase of our work , and I wouldn ’ t change that . I thrive off of building relationships , solving problems and knowing that my team has helped a family live more efficiently ( and beautifully ). ◆
