ROOMS TO LOVE Mindful yet Cozy Monique Sabatino of Balanced Interiors applies a natural design to this spacious sunroom. PHOTO GR APH BY MI CHAEL LEF EBVRE F R O M T H E D E S I G N E R : “Though we renovated a majority of our Narragansett home, the sunroom is our most-loved area as it gives us the sense of connecting with the outdoors while remaining cozy in New England temperatures. It has an open feel not only because we expanded it from its original size, but also because of its proximity to the outdoor kitchen and patio. The eastern and southern windows allow light and sun to come in most of the day, and the bird feeder just outside the front window attracts all kinds of birds for watching. Plus, the wind chimes are in constant motion with the sea breeze and there are plenty of flowers and shrubs to admire. Our decor and fixtures also bring the outside in: I incorporated natural fabrics like cotton and linens along with real wood tables that are time-worn and loved. Interesting artwork adds to the charm of the room, as well. People often overlook the importance of setting aside a budget for artwork, but it really is the jewelry on the black dress. Overall, it’s a special room with good energy. It’s where we come to revitalize.” Balanced Interiors To learn more about Balanced Interiors, see page 18 | balancedinteriors.com | @balanced_interiors | @balancedinteriors   RHODE ISLAND MONTHLY’S NEST | 2020    23
