As we all know, in the recent days, our Turkish scientist has won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Who is this person? Why was this person nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize? This person
is Aziz Sancar. Who is Aziz Sancar? Here is some information that i will explain to you
about Aziz Sancar.
Aziz Sancar is a Turkish-American scientist, a faculty member at the University of North
Carolina Biochemistry and Biophysics. In his recent works, we can see how the DNAs in our
cells can be repaired, and due to his works he has been awarded the 2015 Nobel Peace
Prize.
Professor Doctor Aziz Sancar has received the Nobel Peace Prize from Royal Swedish
Academy of Sciences, presenting him the award Carl Gustaf XVI sharing the award with
Tomas Lindahl and Paul Modrich. Mr.Sancar has received this award at the anniversary
of Alfred Nobel on the 10th of December receiving 3 million Swedish Krona (1 million
Turkish Liras).
