Accordingly, on 11th July, 2019 Reed Tradex Vietnam and the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA) organized the Vietnam Electronics Forum 2019 with the theme “Linkage and dialogue between enterprises in global supply chain ”as an opportunity to meet and support the businesses in the electronics industry and related fields. At the event, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Huong, Member of the Executive Board, Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA) said: “The globalization process has been accelerated rapidly throughout the country, lead to the competition in production within domestic market, especially for Vietnam enterprises when there are more and more suppliers for supporting industries such as electronics industry, automobile industry, mechanical engineering, etc. Therefore, business should pay more attention to improve competitiveness, especially enterprises in the electronics industry which play important role in the economy. In addition, we also should focus on activities that can help improve productivity, business environment and supply chain values as well as connect domestic firms with FDI resources in the region and around the world. This linkage is extremely necessary and important for business in the electronics industry. “ Also during the forum, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thuy, Deputy Director of IPS Center, Industry Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade updated the issues related to Vietnam electronics industry, opportunities from EVFTA and the policy of connecting businesses from government perspective. Ms. Thuy shared: “It is an important moving-forward step that Vietnam electronics industry builds a network of domestic suppliers with global competitiveness, it will help reduce risks of supply chain, delivery time as well as production cost. Meanwhile, high–qualified electronic business will also support for increasing the flexibility of the electronics industry in particular and the economy in general, helping to remain existing FDI enterprises and attracting new FDI resources. ” n e w s l e t t e r # 3 5
