NEW ENGLAND NURSERY ASSOCIATION

BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2017

NENA Annual Meeting cont.

NENA also welcomed HRI’s new Research and Science Program Director, Jill Calabro, Ph.D.

Dr. Calabro gave members an insider’s look at how NENA’s support helps HRI translate valuable research into actionable resources and information that advances the horticulture industry. She provided insight into the trends that are being tracked and supported by HRI from pollinator health and water management to consumer buying habits. NENA works closely with Dr. Calabro and HRI on an annual Industry Growth Initiative grant. The NENA board of directors reviews many HRI grant applications each year and recommends a recipient whose work is deemed valuable for the New England nursery industry.

NENA is grateful to all who attended the Annual Meeting and to the board of directors for their dedication to the association and the industry. See page 3 to read Carol MacLeod’s incoming president remarks.

STAY TUNED!

NENA has been working closely with HRI and an announcement of the 2017 NENA Industry Growth Initiative grant recipient will be made this spring.
