Pitch Better: How to Get Attention from the
Media
For this hands-on session, come with examples of
your press releases or other pitches in hand. After
a presentation on storytelling techniques and other
writing/pitching tips, you will share your materials
with others for feedback at moderated table talks.
You will leave the session with a stronger working
knowledge of how to interact with media outlets, as
well as feeling more comfortable speaking with elected
officials, donors, and collaborators about the work of
your museum.

Slippery Slopes: Ethical Lapses in Governance!
This is a session on ethical concerns in museum
governance. Bring your questions and let a seasoned
team provide guidance! The format will be round table
discussions on topics such as acquisitions and sale of
collections, conflict of interest, duty of loyalty, board
interference and community relations, but is open to
all governance issues. Participants will be encouraged
to speak with all the facilitators.
