She shares in vision of the Neighbourhood
Mothers’ project: empowering immigrant
women with necessary information so that
they could help themselves and the
people around them, each in their own
neighbourhood of change and influence.
Michelle suggests
“While developing projects and services
for immigrants, it is important to also
include the perspectives of immigrants
and immigrant women, such as our
Neighbourhood Mothers.”
Michelle also strongly believes in the
Finnish social system and hopes that the
Government doesn’t succeed in
destroying it completely. “In the building
of a more multicultural society, we can
always learn from each other - how to do
things in a different way instead of the way
it has always been done - and expand our
understanding about meeting the needs
of all our new fellow Finns,” concludes
Michelle.
Thank you Michelle, for sharing your
bittersweet experiences as an immigrant in
this country. And yes, we are with you all
the way in helping to build a better,
multicultural Finland!
