Neighborhood Alliance Annual Report Annual Report 2014 | Seite 5

Dear Friends and Supporters, Throughout the years you’ve helped your neighbors overcome challenges and marveled in the success of their accomplishments. Whether it’s a hot meal for a senior citizen, an overnight stay in a safe shelter for a mother, father and their children, or providing enriching educational experiences for children from low-income working families, you help us touch the lives of thousands every year. Lorain County is a unique environment with a mix of both rural and urban challenges. Throughout 2014 we have focused on creating firm foundations for growth within our organization combined with developing stronger community bonds. Knowing that community is the key to success for neighbors both young and old we continue to developed collaborations with other agencies to enhance these community bonds. Passion for our mission is what has created longstanding relationships with staff, volunteers and donors, along with like-minded nonprofits and community businesses. I would like to take a minute to share with you just how important your support is. Through your time, talents and resources, YOU help make all this possible! In this year’s Annual Report, we reflect on some of the accomplishments in 2014, all of which are only possible because neighbors like you believe in our mission to help communities grow stronger. Over the past four years, there have been many changes that Neighborhood Alliance has undergone. We have had to adapt to the needs of the residents of Lorain County to be both relevant and to create long term sustainability. Whether it is a child needing early intervention services to be successful later in life, a frail vulnerable senior in need of a hot home delivered meal and a daily well-care check from our drivers, or someone who is homeless needing a bed to rest their head while they pick themselves up to find permanent housing, these are all real problems that you help us address every day. Looking ahead, I foresee some exciting opportunities for Neighborhood Alliance. During the summer of 2015, the Board of Directors and the team at Neighborhood Alliance will implement a new strategic plan. Both short and long term goals will be influenced by revisiting and potentially recreating our mission statement, the financial forecast of funding streams, and identifying the needs of the communities we serve through numerous community assessments. At a time of significant change and economic challenges, one thing can be said with certainty: Neighborhood Alliance is ready to meet the future head on! This confidence—born out of a history of accomplishment and advancement along with help from you, our supporters and volunteers, is the base on which we will build. Our successes and lessons learned inspire and compel us to make an even greater impact. Simply put, we are excited about the future, enthusiastic about what we have accomplished together, and committed to realizing our vision. On behalf of Neighborhood Alliance, its Board of Directors and Staff, I would like to personally thank you! Connie Osborn - CEO/ President
