Your support helped 114 children! It’s incrediby humbling to ask for help, especially when you are leading your family through the doors of a homeless shelter. Neighborhood Alliance Shelter and Emergency Services operates the Haven Center Homeless Shelter in Lorain, Ohio. More than ever before families are finding themselves in need. Many resort to sleeping in cars or maybe even on a family members couch. However when you have multiple children under the age of 5, both of these options quickly become impossibilities. “I received several calls today from females with children looking for shelter, that is the majority of the calls I receive. There are no other reasons, except they are (the ones) who are the most poor. Single females with children are the least likely to have good-paying jobs, the least likely to afford market-rate rent and the most likely to be in need.” – Sandy Humphrey, Director of Shelter and Emergency Services. Shelter & Emergency Services offers a 24-hour, 7 days a week, extended stay family shelter with additional programming and services to address the various needs of residents.
