There are a number of benefits to be gained from becoming a member of the Nedbank Running Club , which :
• Has branches in 12 cities , so that members can join and share in activities at any given time throughout the year .
• Encourages , motivates and trains young upcoming athletes from all walks of life .
• Provides members with regular running activities to enjoy and improve their running as well as socialise with fellow athletes .
• Has weekly , well-organised time trials .
• Has at least one club race tent per month , with refreshments , and a gazebo at most major races , where members can leave their tog bag and valuables .
• Has a hospitality area at major national races such as the Comrades , Two Oceans , Soweto Marathon and Om Die Dam .
• Has organised social functions throughout the year .
• Enables members to associate with champions such as Edward Mothibe , Gerda Steyn , Irvette van Zyl , Ludwick Mamobolo , Juan van Deventer , Ntombisintu Mfunzi and David Manja .
• Provides the national NRC website , with useful running info and event news , as well as club info and newsletters .
• Provides a platform to ask for expert running advice from the Nedbank Green Dream Team running legends .
• Has one of the lowest membership fees in the country ( and Nedbank employees get R50 off their already-low membership fees ).
• Offers a variety of high-quality , modern Nike / Nedbank running attire .
The Management Team
The Management Structure of the Nedbank Running Club includes two Comrades Marathon winners and one of the all-time greats of SA running , and between them they have many years of experience not only of running , but also administration , coaching and marketing .

Meet the Dream Team
The Nedbank Green Dream Team consists of a mixture of top South African athletes who compete in all the recognised distances as well as many of South Africa ’ s ultra-marathons . This elite squad has been individually selected after consultation with experienced managers and coaches . Many of these athletes are world class runners , such as Edward Mothibe and Modibe Ludwick Mamabolo ( Comrades Marathon winners ), Gerda Steyn ( Comrades and Two Oceans Marathon winner , and SA Marathon Record holder ), Irvette Van Zyl ( Olympian , multiple SA Champion and multiple Soweto Marathon winner ) and Juan van Deventer ( middle distance Olympian and Om Die Dam Marathon winner ).
The Nedbank Green Dream Team is supplemented by a talented squad of promising young development athletes and experienced campaigners , including track and field specialists , who are nurtured and supported by the NRC across the country . In addition , members of the satellite clubs in Lesotho , Zimbabwe , Kenya and Ethiopia often race in South Africa , and with all this running talent under one club , it is no surprise that each year the podium positions and Top 10 rankings of many South African events are dominated by Nedbank athletes .
