He may not be a household name now , but if things go well for him in the upcoming attempt to set a new World Best , just maybe TK Moshwetsi will be the talk of SA road running . He ran a 2:17 in the 2019 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon and clocked a 2:21 in the Potchefstroom leg of the 2020 Cape Town Marathon , late last year at altitude , so appears to be in good form going into the 50km challenge in Gqeberha . As they say , watch this space .
Ntsindiso Mphakathi ( SA )
Club : Entsika AC Age : 31 Marathon PB : 2:16:16 ( Umtata , 2015 ) Last Marathon : 2:18:41 ( Port Elizabeth , 2020 )
With SA long distance running legend Hendrick Ramaala as his coach and a 2:18 marathon run as recently as last year , in Gqeberha , it looks like Ntsindiso Mphakathi like he has it all going for him as he goes into the Nedbank Runified Breaking Barriers 50km . He clocked his 2:16 marathon PB a few years before that , but appears to have retained his speed as the years have progressed , so it will be interesting to see how he goes in this 50km .
