With new applications raging all over the technology markets, it is almost impossible to crunch all the data into excel rows and columns.

Structures have outnumbered the input data formats. Pure text, photo, audio, video, web, GPS Data, documents, SMS, geo location data, web logs etc. can be other data formats.

Velocity is implicated with the speed of data processing. The element deals with how quickly the data must be used to create real value. Greater the velocity, more likely we are exposed to Big Data opportunity.
