COPENHAGEN COPENHAGEN COPENHAGEN FOOTBALL Football is the Danish national sport. Copenhagen itself is the home of the national team. When there’s an important game, the city streets are generally empty with everyone tucked away at the Parken Stadium in the centre of town, which is one of Europe’s most modern stadiums. 208 CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN SPORT IN COPENHAGEN DESCRIPTION RUNNING Running has become an increasingly popular sport in Copenhagen because it is so easily accessible. Nike currently has a partnership with Denmark’s largest track and field team, Sparta. Sparta organises various races including the Copenhagen Marathon, the Half Marathon and Women’s 10K. Over 500,000 people participate each year in these races and the numbers are growing. Nike also assisted the Amplified Running Crew’s NBRO runners, a group of designers, photographers and other creative people that run. NBRO Runners were founded during the Nike Campaign, TAKE CPH, and now have over 700 members.
