Professional Learning Committee: Update and Request
The largest-growing segment in schools across the United States is students who do not speak English as their native language. This growth, coupled with the ESSA requirements for English proficiency and academic growth relinquishes immense responsibilities on all educational professionals who act as change agents for this diverse population of students. The mission of the Professional Learning committee is to contribute to the academic success of English learners by guiding professional development best practices. Therefore, we are initiating this survey to gain knowledge of what is currently in practice, and assess the needs of our professional community. Please take a moment to give us your feedback so that we can begin our work of focusing on providing guidelines about how to approach systemic and improvement-oriented professional learning.
