FLATBUSH ZOMBIES
W/ BODEGA BAMZ
Sunday November 17 was a date that had been circled on my calender for weeks. The Brooklyn rap group
Flatbush Zombies were going to be playing at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, N.C. and they were bringing Spanish
Harlem’s own Bodega Bamz with them. I was disappointed that I couldn’t make it to Atlanta the night before
to see fellow Brooklyn group The Underachievers on this tour. However, my disappointment would disappear
not long after I presented my ticket and walked in the club. Bodega Bamz had just taken the stage and his
approximately forty five minute set was full of energy with Bodega spitting verses over beats that were
rocking’ the walls .
Then the Zombies took the stage and had the club bouncing. The played some of their
older ones as well as a number from the “Better Off Dead” mixtape.
They went on to play two encores, it seemed like no one wanted to go
home. Both the Zombies and Bodega Bamz gave it 110 percent only
leaving me to wish I could’ve seen them twice.
