We believe overnight camp provides the ideal environment for growth and improvement because of the intense skill saturation that takes place. Playing several hours a day and taking hundreds of shots is crucial to elevating skill level. The most effective way for players to improve during the off-season is to get tons of repetitions and correction when necessary, and not just travel around playing games. The growth you can experience is tremendous. Outside of your comfort zone, away from what is familiar, your senses become heightened, and your ability to learn and retain information greatly improves. As a college coach, I would recommend every player attend some sort of a skills camp if they are able and get the chance. These camps are great for helping you finetune and work on your skills plus they give you lots of ideas and drills that you can use and take back with you to add to your own workout you already have. Skill work and camps should supplement your games/tournaments that you have during the summer so those skills that will make you a better basketball player get a lot of attention and work. – Matt Logie, College Head Coach
