Lung Cancer Types
There are two types of lung cancer:
Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) represents 80% to 90% of all
lung cancer cases each year. These lung cancers include:

adenocarcinoma, the most common
squamous cell carcinoma, about 25% of NSCLC
large cell carcinoma, about 10% of NSCLC
Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) represents 10% to 20% of all lung
cancer cases each year. SCLC tumors tend to grow more quickly than
NSCLC tumors. They may initially be more responsive to chemotherapy.
