Autism Awareness Month

Autism Awareness: This is a month of observance focusing on raising awareness about autism spectrum disorders, what it means to be autistic, How to support autistic people, and the difficulties autistic people face. Some people have objected to focusing on Autism awareness month, and some organizations promote it. In particular, they criticize these organizations' goals due to the perception of their treatment.

In 1972 the Autism society established National Autistic Children's week as a part of its efforts to educate people about autism spectrum disorder and how to support autistic people. This evolved into a month-long observance known as Autism Awareness Month, which became widely observed in the Autism community. Fun facts about Autism are that it was used in 1908. Things you can do during Autism Month is by showing your support on Social media and donating to a charity event, or participating in a Fundraiser event.

Why is Autism month so Important? 

 To put it simply, knowledge empowerment, Having a child with autism necessities finding out as much as possible about the possible aspects of the condition and treatment in life. People who are autistic are born differently and suffer consequences from society; It is crucial we treat them as a part of us and not a subgroup. Autism celebrates World Autism month every April, beginning with the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness on April 2nd. Throughout the month, we focus on people by providing them a space to share their stories and giving opportunities for learning for other people to understand.

Symbolism Puzzle Ribbon: 

The Puzzle Ribbon came about in 1999 as the universal sign of autism awareness. However, this image is a trademark of the Autism Society. The organization has granted use to other nonprofit organizations to demonstrate unity and advance a universal mission as possessed to any individually held interests or promotion of a single organization. 

The Autism Awareness Ribbon: The puzzle pattern reflects the complexity of the Autism spectrum. The different colors and shapes represent the diversity of the people and families loving the condition. The brightness of the ribbon signals hope. There are so many connotations to what the Puzzle ribbons mean it can mean so many different things to an individual.
