Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution has become a significant issue. Plastic pollution is the trash/plastic that is found in the ocean. There has been a massive increase in how much Plastic there is in the environment. Scientists believe that if we don't make a change in the atmosphere by the year 2050, we will see more trash than fish in the ocean. Most of the plastic trash in the oceans flows from land. Trash is also carried to the sea by major rivers, which act as conveyor belts, picking up more and more trash as they move downstream. Once at sea, much of the plastic trash remains in coastal waters but once caught up in ocean currents, Plastic can transport worldwide.

Today, Plastic is found in oceans where wildlife is. Plastic pollution is such a big issue because the animals in the sea are being harmed by this and even dying. We need to take care of our environment. So what can we do to help this issue? We can reduce, reuse, and recycle. These are the three ways to make a positive impact on the environment. It is essential to put this into place as plastic pollution in our oceans increases.

Reduce: The first step is to reduce the amount of waste we produce. What are some ways to reduce? We can help reduce when we declutter. We can see what we can take to donation centers instead of throwing things in the trash. Another way we can reduce it is by using the proper containers of trash, for example, waste in the green garbage can and any cans in the recyclable garbage can, and making sure the garbage is getting picked up on garbage day.

Reuse: The second step to helping with plastic pollution would be reusing. For example, with food and drinks, store the leftovers. Also, when you go shopping, instead of buying a plastic bag for every purchase you make, try taking a reusable bag. These are things that can help stop plastic pollution because we are trying not to use Plastic but more so reusable items such as reusable water bottles instead of plastic water bottles from stores. Plus, this also saves you money.

Recycle: The third thing that can help plastic pollution is recycling. Making sure we recycle essential because you prevent recyclable items from ending up in landfills where they can take hundreds of years to decompose. Still, you're giving your recyclable item a chance to get made into something else. It's also important to know what you are recycling. For example, car parts, computers, motor oils, and car batteries all have their places where you can recycle them instead of your own recycle bin.

It's essential to be mindful of the three R's in our everyday life.

Our environment does so much for us, and it's time to do the same for our Earth and

environment. So think about some of the changes you can make to your lifestyle that can help our environment be different and better. Let's end plastic pollution, starting with our actions.
