Issue # 2 , 22 nd April

With an increase in vote share this time round , there was always a chance of a late surge in popularity for Le Pen and her move to distance herself from the National Front was an attempted to unite France behind her and pick up the votes from those who voted for the other candidates , votes from Francois Filon . In 2002 , Jean-Marie Le Pen led a resounding defeat after 79.71 % of the electorate turned out to give Jaques Chirac 82.21 % against Jean-Marie ’ s 17.79 % of the votes . The electorate had convincingly voted against fascism .
There was no chance of this happening again though after a clever and well-run campaign to improve the image of the National Front . Marine Le Pen was smart and was running a campaign that claimed
anti-establishment , like Donald Trump in the US and the various Brexit campaigns in the UK . However , the French electorate largely rejected fascism once again and lived up to their motto ; Liberté , égalité , fraternité . But the vote share did increase by approximately 5 million more than in 2012 . A 74.56 % turnout saw 66.1 and 33.9 percent for Macron and Le Pen respectively .
Marine Le Pen presented herself as a conservative when the truth is that she is a fascist and was running a far-right fascist campaign but cleverly hidden . France itself has largely chosen to ignore the fascism of Marine Le Pen and unite behind the centrist Macron . Whilst he may not be perfect , he is significantly better than Jaques Chirac in 2002 and a signal that far-right or fascist politics has no place in the modern world , no matter how good a PR campaign you provide . Macron will now have the difficult task to unite France and provide economic stability and growth once he takes office .

CPS announce they are not too charge most Conservative MPs investigated for election fraud

By Matthew Clifton
The CPS have announced that most of the Conservative MPs will not face charges over election fraud , however , the investigation in Kent is still ongoing . They cited that there was no evidence to suggest that the Conservatives were aware or active in election fraud . After a long investigation into the matter that was kicked off by Channel 4 ’ s extensive investigative reporting into the matter last year .
This issue highlights several issues however , there is concern that they have hidden the fraud well enough to deceive officials and
could be playing the legal system . This underlines the fragility of our legal system and the Conservatives willingness to actively deceive the public . On the other hand , this could have been , just as the CPS said , “ an error ” in accounts keeping .
The latter scenario doesn ’ t sit too well because if they are unable to competently keep the accounts right of their election campaign , how can they be trusted to run a complex political economy , that is not a business but the welfare of society itself . With complexities of looking after the public as well as the ensuring public services are fully funded and the economy runs smoothly .
In short , the Conservatives are either very good at deceiving the public with how they
spend money or deceiving the public of their competence in running a complex socioeconomic political system . The CPS themselves stated that they hadn ’ t found enough evidence to prove that the MPs in question did it on purpose . They have already fined the Conservative Party £ 70,000 for breaking election rules .
When Theresa May or any other Conservative sympathiser argue , the MPs are innocent , this is a lie . The CPS didn ’ t find enough evidence to prosecute for purposefully misleading the Electoral Commission over figures .
