arly this past September, after decimating
the Bahama Islands as a Category 5 storm,
Hurricane Dorian began her march toward the
southeastern US. Evacuations were ordered
for coastal communities in Florida, Georgia, and South and
North Carolina as weather forecasters struggled to predict her
path, strength, and timing. In the pre-dawn hours of Thursday,
September 5—after what seemed an interminable wait—
Hurricane Dorian arrived along the coast of South Carolina.
