Demonstration Garden Tours Are you interested in creating habitat for wildlife in your home’s landscape? If so, we have a program just for you. The Kiawah Conservancy will be hosting a series of casual information sessions in the Naturally Kiawah Demonstration Garden throughout the fall. These presentations will cover the following topics: • Understory Habitat - what is it and why is it so important for Kiawah’s wildlife. • Sustaining biodiversity on Kiawah through habitat-friendly landscaping. • Kiawah’s distinctive barrier island ecology and the value of native plants in the landscape. • Unique interrelationships between local species. • The Kiawah Conservancy’s Naturally Kiawah habitat recognition program. In addition, these sessions will allow participants to learn more about the Kiawah Conservancy’s land conservation and outreach programs. By creating maintained areas of habitat within your yard, you can directly support Kiawah’s wildlife, while complementing Kiawah’s unique natural aesthetic and environs.
