Testosterone Killing Food #1: Soy
Soy has gotten a lot of bad press in the last few years. The main
concern people have had is that it seemed to raise estrogen levels
in women, a contributing factor in breast cancer cases.
A recent study from the University of Connecticut found that soy
doesn’t necessarily raise estrogen levels in women, which seems
like good news. However, the study also found that soy products
reduced testosterone levels in men while increasing cortisol levels.
Cortisol is also known as the stress hormone.
Besides being important for male sexual function, testosterone
helps with sleep, cell repair, and the production of red blood cells.
Men want to maintain healthy hormone levels and should therefore
be warned of foods like soy products that can have such an
adverse effect on hormones.
