Eero Saarinen for Knoll
Finli-Amerikan tasarımcı Eero Saarinen’in 1958’de tasarladığı
Knoll üretimi ‘Pedestral Collection’, her biri dört ayaklı masa
‘Tulip’ masa
son on yıldır beyaz laminat versiyonuyla sıklıkla karşımıza çıksa da,
son iki yıldır mermer masalı versiyonu yükselişte.
Eero Saarinen, Tulip Table, 1958
16 NATURA • KASIM - ARALIK 2013 / NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 2013
Designed in 1958 by the Finish American Eero Saarinen, who
with his Pedestral Collection wished to address the issue of
the “slum of legs”, which refers to tables and chairs with four
legs, creating an “ugly, confusing, unrestful world” under
the table. The base is made of heavy molded cast aluminum
painted white, which gives support to the tabletop. Though the
Tulip Table has been popular in a white laminate version for at
least the last decade in Scandinavia, the version with a marble
tabletop has seen an uprise in the last couple of years. The
Pedestal Collection was created for the acknowledged New
York based furniture manufacturing company Knoll.
