THE HOUSE IS LOCATED ON THE DRAMATIC SLOPING LANDSCAPE OF THE AEGEAN DISTRICT OF DATÇA FACING SOUTH TOWARDS THE SEA. of Datça while functionally protecting the interior of the building from the scorching Mediterranean summer heat. Çağlar himself directed the construction of the building in order to accurately apply the design based on the foundations of the regional architecture. Intending to live in this house for the rest of their life, every detail was especially planned for long-term needs. They planned their living areas on one floor to ensure accessibility during older age while creating independent rooms for their children’s crowded families and a guest house for visitors. Design was organized to the most intricate detail such as the organization of the living floor in the upper level because of his wife’s fear of animals, leaving the garden floor for the private suites for the children, closed garage, laundry room, storage and utilities. The primary living area of the couple on the upper floor in the shape of a U has at its center a pool in the middle. Glass walls surrounding the pool provide sunlight to the interior living areas while securing the same sea view as this outdoor patio.
