The House’s entrance side makes an immediate impact with its monolithic sheer surface made of marble travertine with only breaks for windows. The travertine marble is ubiquitous throughout the project. It can be seen both inside and outside as the unifying feature which links the interior and exterior rooms into one common living space on the ground floor ideal for Mediterranean lifestyle. The use of travertine extends through this floor back into the yard merging with the geometry of the pool and providing a border to the grass and stone of the garden. In the interior travertine is combined with dark grey granite in several areas to differentiate important vertical volumes. The travertine and the natural light entering in from the floor to ceiling windows and sliding glass doors of the house provide lightness. Light floods these spaces producing a variety of reflections off of the sophisticated palette of off-white tones in travertine and other light marbles. This mix of light and marble harmonizes with the clean architecture of this A-cero project in the firms increasing portfolio of signature projects. MAYIS-HAZİRAN / MAY-JUNE 2011 • NATURA 71
