This square reveals the irrigation
canal as a long pool featuring
prominently a historic iron
water fountain on one end. This
neoclassic iron fountain sitting
significantly on its stone base
is the visual centerpiece of the
square symbolically affirming the
renewed importance of the water
system for the town. Dramatically
pushing up from the geometry
of the travertine pavement it is
the focal point of the square that
also contains the round wood
benches and a rust colored
metal tree bed surrounds in a
design style found throughout
MiAS’ Banyoles project.
