Wynne , Arkansas
I currently reside in Wynne , Arkansas in N . E . Arkansas and am originally from Fort Wayne , Indiana . My love for horses began very early in my childhood from my father Bob Locke as we enjoyed the family horse business . I enjoyed all breeds but my first love has been the smooth ride of a Walking Horse . My professional career has allowed me to be exposed to different areas of the country thus building friendships from coast to coast in our breed . I am honored to be chosen to judge this prestigious event and wish all exhibitors best of success in the 2021 National .

Jim has been training flat shod Tennessee Walking Horses professionally since 1988 . Growing up , Jim always had a deep love for animals and specifically horses . He purchased his first horse at the young age of 17 – a lovely and talented Quarter Horse mare – that he trained and later competed at Quarter Horse Congress with . In his early career , Jim worked part-time out of a local boarding barn where he was first introduced to the Tennessee Walking Horse . At this time , he was asked to train a Tennessee Walking Horse named Razzmatazz , which put the wheels in motion and little by little and success by success , Jim grew his knowledge and his business overtime . Today , Jim owns and operates Jim Potter Stables in New London , Ohio with over 25 Tennessee Walking Horses . He particularly enjoys working and starting young horses , developing their potential along the way . Jim trains a number of multi-National Grand Champions that have been successfully showing for over 10 years . Jim has supported the National Walking Horse Association since its early years – participating in shows and events all across the country - and has served on the NWHA Board for nearly 15 years ; initially as a BOD Regional Director , then on the Executive Committee as the Secretary and Vice President , and now currently serves as the NWHA President . Jim is devoted to training sound , flat shod walking horses .
