We ’ re back ! I am so proud to welcome everyone to the 21st Anniversary of The National Championship as we return to Tennessee Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro . The National was last held at Miller Coliseum in 2011 so this year represents more than just another horse show – it ’ s a spectacular event and a time to celebrate ! We travel many miles to compete , socialize with our horse show families and friends while we all cheer for our sound , naturally-gaited horses and each other .
So much work goes into planning a show of this caliber , many of us have been preparing for this event for months – whether as a part of a committee , a volunteer or an exhibitor . Lots of manpower and hours of effort go into making The National the best it can possibly be year after year . Creating unforgettable experiences and memories make each National a unique horse show like no other . I want to personally thank all of you for your hard work and sacrifice . Without you , none of this would be possible .
We are lucky to have so many wonderful people within our organization and this year we will be honoring some heartfelt losses . Please join me in remembrance of Dr . Gordon Lawler , Clem Mesavage , Maria Redmond , and Chuck Spinelli , 4 distinguished individuals who loved and supported our mission and values for many years . We will celebrate their memory and involvement with the NWHA , through memorial classes in their honor . All will be greatly missed and remembered fondly .
Let ’ s also not forget our charity – The Wounded Warrior Project - A catalyst for change . With the mission to honor and empower Wounded Warriors , WWP is the hand extended to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs . Offering a variety of programs and services , WWP is equipped to serve warriors with every type of injury – from the physical to the invisible wounds of war . The NWHA is honored to support the Wounded Warrior Project each year and I encourage each of you to participate in our military salute in our Wounded Warrior Memorial class Saturday evening .
We look forward to sharing in your celebration of your successes and journeys in Murfreesboro , best of luck and may you all have the best experiences at the 2021 NWHA National Championship !
