YEO NATIONAL CONVENING 2016 MELISSA ROBINSON School Board Member Kansas City, Kansas Melissa Robinson represents the 4th District and serves as treasurer on the Kansas City Public Schools Board of Education. Robinson has been instrumental in increasing teacher accountability, promoting transparent government, championing effective use of Title I funding, and raising awareness of environmental and health issues impacting educators, students, and families. Robinson is a Robert Woods Johnson Fellow, and is currently employed with the Black Health Care Coalition. Melissa is leading efforts to address the social determinates of health, ensuring the organization is making a significant impact on reducing health disparities in the areas of hypertension, infant mortality, diabetes, breast and prostate cancer, and childhood asthma. Robinson obtained a B.S. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an M.B.A. from Webster University.  ARMANDO RODRIGUEZ Trustee Canutillo, Texas Armando “Mando” Rodriguez is serving his third term on the Board of Trustees, where he has served as president, vice president, and secretary.
