YEO NATIONAL CONVENING 2016 EMMA PINTER City Councilor Westminster, Colorado City Councilor Emma Pinter was elected to Westminster City Council in November 2013. She is the owner of a small technology company. She serves on the Westminster Board of Building Code Appeals and is a graduate of the Westminster Citizen Fire Academy. Pinter is also the former president of the Westminster Mom’s Club and served on the committee for the Colorado Bar Association high school mock trial competition. @ehpinter ALEX PRATT School Committee Member Littleton, Massachusetts Alex Pratt was elected to the Littleton School Committee in May 2013. He is a college student at Northeastern University and a teaching assistant at the Harvard University Extension School. Committee Member Pratt serves as the co-chair of the Pursuit of Excellence Task Force and as the school committee representative to the Permanent Municipal Building Committee. He has testified before the legislature’s Joint Committee on Education on bills impacting students’ well-being and performance, and he has published articles on education policy in the Littleton Independent, the Lowell Sun, and the Boston Globe. While in high school, Pratt advised the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on issues relating to Littleton-area public schools. He is currently studying sociology and economics at Northeastern University in Boston. @alexdpratt RACHEL L. PROCTOR City Councilmember DeSoto, Texas Rachel L. Proctor, councilmember for the City of DeSoto, Texas, was re-elected in a general election to serve a full term in May 2014. Proctor is the owner and administrative director of the Neighborhood Christian Learning Center of Dallas, Inc. NCLC of Dallas is also a part of Dallas ISD’s School Readiness Integration Program and has been designated by the Texas Education Agency as a “Pre K Center of Excellence.” Proctor is very passionate about giving back to DeSoto ISD. Her love for her alma mater fueled her to launch a non-profit called EMERGE Leadership, Inc. To date, ELI has provided students with scholarships totaling nearly $8,000 since its inception in 2013. Rachel holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and she is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. YEO BIOS 67
