BRIANNE NADEAU City Councilwoman
Washington, D.C.
Brianne Nadeau was elected to the Council of the District of Columbia on November 4, 2014.
In her many years of service to the community, she has brought perspectives from a career that
has spanned the non-profit, public, and private sectors. As councilmember, Nadeau is committed
to strengthening schools, supporting small businesses, increasing affordable housing and public
safety, and putting measures in place that allow for government transparency, effectiveness, and
the highest ethical standards. Nadeau is a community activist at heart, and engages Ward 1
residents and businesses through civic organizations, volunteer opportunities in neighborhoods
and schools, and through regular dialogue as part of her Brianne on Your Block and Community
Conversations series.
SARAH NICHOLS City Councilor
Bangor, Maine
Councilor Sarah Nichols, 25, currently serves on the Bangor, Maine City Council. After
successfully completing the Emerge Maine training program, Nichols was elected for the first
time to public office after winning a seven-way city wide race this past November. Born and raised
in Bangor, Nichols studied new media at the University of Maine and works for the St. Joseph
Healthcare Foundation. Additionally, Nichols currently serves on the Emerge Maine board of
directors. She enjoys cross country skiing, hiking in Acadia National Park, traveling abroad, or
enjoying a local beer at her favorite bar, Nocturnem Draft Haus.
RYAN O’MALLEY City Councilor
Malden, Massachusetts
Ryan O’Malley was recently elected to his first term as a city councilor in Malden, Massachusetts.
Malden is a city of 60,000+ residents and is located four miles north of downtown Boston. As
city councilor, O’Malley represents Ward Four, which includes Malden Square, the city’s central
business district. Most of the core services and facilities of the city are located within this area:
Malden City Hall, the Police Station, Malden High School, two MBTA train stations, the Post
Office, and many businesses. Prior to his election, Ryan worked in the field of environmental
conservation as a park ranger with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and
Recreation (DCR), and in international business as a real estate analyst and project manager at
Allianz. O’Malley’s goal is to work with world class organizations, both public and private, to
restore faith in and improve the operational efficiency of our institutions.
