PAULETTE JORDAN State Representative
Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
Jordan is a lifelong resident of Idaho, as well as an enrolled member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe,
who has been involved in local politics and community activism for years. She has served for
three years as the youngest elected member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Council. She holds three
degrees from the University of Washington, along with a certificate of study in conflict resolutions
and strategic negotiations from the Washington Center in Washington D.C., and a certificate
in energy policy planning from the University of Idaho’s College of Business and Economics
Executive Program. Education, jobs, and the economy are major priorities for Jordan, who aims
to strengthen education and prioritize resources for Idaho schools. In addition, Jordan is currently
serving as secretary of the executive board of the National Indian Gaming Association, which
represents 186 Tribal Nations throughout the U.S.
ANDY KATZ Utility District Board Member Director
Berkley, California
Andy Katz was first elected to the East Bay Municipal Utility District in 2006, serving as board
president from 2013-2014. Katz is an environmental, public health, and workers’ rights attorney,
and is a former chair of Sierra Club California. Prior to his election to the EBMUD Board,
he served for five years as a member of the City of Berkeley Zoning Adjustments Board. Katz
supported EBMUD’s efforts to expand water conservation programs and double recycled water
projects, protect water quality, and efforts to protect the climate, including expanding solar
energy and converting food scraps into renewable energy. He initiated the policies protecting
tenants in apartment buildings from water service termination and addressing gaps which led to
the expansion of the Customer Assistance Program, which provides lifeline rates for low-income
households. He has a B.A. and master of city planning degree from U.C. Berkeley and a law
degree from Santa Clara University.
KEVIN KILLER State Representative
Pine Ridge, South Dakota
State Representative Kevin Killer is currently serving his third term in the South Dakota State
Legislature, where he serves on the Judiciary and State Affairs Committees. Killer is the treasurer
for the Native American Caucus of State Legislators and is a member of the State Agricultural
and Rural Leaders Association. He is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Killer
has worked for his state political party, South Dakotans Against Discrimination, and the
election campaigns of President Barack Obama, Senators Tom Daschle and Tim Johnson, and
Representative Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin. Representative Killer is currently a trainer for the
Native American Leadership Program of Wellstone Action. Killer is a proud alumnus of the
Young People For fellowship program in addition to the YEO Network’s Front Line Leaders
