DANIEL HERNANDEZ School Board Member
Tucson, Arizona
Daniel Hernandez, a recently published author, is a school board member in the Sunnyside
Unified School District. He first became politically engaged in response to Arizona’s immigration
policies and chose to work on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Hernandez later began
his studies in political science at the University of Arizona. While attending college, Hernandez
served as a campaign manager for State Representative Steve Farley. Hernandez was a member
of Tucson’s City Commission on LGBTQ issues. Hernandez is an outspoken advocate for gun
control and immigration reform. @djblp
DONOVAN HILL Selectman
McComb, Mississippi
Donovan Hill is a native of McComb, Mississippi. Raised by his mother, he graduated from
McComb School District in 2009. Hill was able to attend college with a football scholarship
at Alcorn State University. While studying education, Hill participated with Real Men Read
and served three years as site coordinator of CDF Freedom School, a fundamental educational
enhancement and national policy driven program. Hill ran for selectman because of the neglected
African-American communities in McComb. Understanding that time and dedication was
needed, Hill ran for office months before graduating from college. Improving infrastructure,
restoring educational values, increasing recreational parks, and community engagement was Hill’s
