Courts Matter: What’s at Stake for Progressives in the Supreme Court
Battles of 2016 and Beyond
Great Room 1
The vacancy created by the death of Justice Scalia (and the obstruction
that followed) brought unprecedented attention to the unique
challenges of organizing to support fair-minded judicial nominees.
This panel will explore what progressives have at stake not only in the
current confirmation fight, but in upcoming battles – and the critical
issues impacted in the states. Discussion will focus on how we can
build a movement that lasts beyond individual confirmation fights and
plays an ongoing role in shaping the Court.
