Barack Obama as a confidential assistant to the undersecretary of education. Representative Peters
serves as a board member of the United States Selective Service System and as a trustee for the
Missouri Arts Council. Representative Peters is currently a member of the Cathedral Basilica Parish of
St. Louis, Rotary International, Congressional Black Associates, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Brittany Pettersen
State Representative
Lakewood, Colorado
State Representative Brittany Pettersen was elected in 2012 to represent
House District 28, which includes most of Lakewood. During the 2014
legislative session Rep. Pettersen focused on helping Colorado’s students
and working families. She sponsored bipartisan legislation to put $30
million into new tuition assistance programs to help more Colorado
students go to college. She also sponsored two bills to help working
families find quality affordable child care, while allowing parents to stay in the workforce and pursue
a career. Before launching her campaign for House District 28, she worked for New Era Colorado, a
nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to engaging youth in government and politics. @RepPettersen
