Dominick Moreno
State Representative
Commerce City, Colorado
State Representative Dominick Moreno was born and raised in Commerce
City, Colorado. He attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.,
where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in American government. Less than
a year after his college graduation, Moreno was elected to the Commerce
City Council. He served on the council for three years and as mayor protem before being elected to the Colorado General Assembly representing
District 32. He serves as assistant majority leader and recently sponsored legislation to expand
school breakfast in low-income schools, raise the minimum wage, and increase the ability for rural
communities to invest in renewable energy. @domoreno
Adam Morfeld
State Senator
Lincoln, Nebraska
Adam Morfeld was elected to the Nebraska legislature in 2014. He is
a member of the Judiciary and Education Committees, and is the third
youngest member of the legislature. His focus is on strengthening
education, providing a strong voice for working Nebraskans, affordable
higher education, and ensuring quality of life and stability for seniors.
Morfeld graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.A.
in political science and earned his J.D. from the University of Nebraska-College of Law. Morfeld
founded and is the executive director of Nebraskans for Civic Reform (NCR), a nonpartisan, nonprofit
organization that engages youth through substantive community service and leadership programs in
schools. The organization also works to ensure elections are accessible for youth, low income, people
with disabilities, and seniors through voting rights investigations, litigation, research, and policy
advocacy. NCR works to create a more modern and robust democracy for all. In his free time Morfeld
enjoys Husker football, long distance running, backcountry traveling, and reading. @Adam_Morfeld
Nina Morris
City Councilmember
Nina Morris is serving in her third term on the Lancaster City Council.
Through her nonprofit organization, Persons In Need of Knowledge, she
motivates individuals to become leaders and encourages them to reach
their full potential. Dallas Weekly voted Morris one of the “top 25 people to
look out for in 2009” and a “mover and shaker in the community” in 2010.
She graduated from Southern Methodist University where she received her
B.A. in philosophy and also has a M.A. in forensic psychology from Argosy University.
