Daniel Hernandez
School Board Member
Tucson, Arizona
Daniel Hernandez, a recently published author, is a school board member in
the Sunnyside Unified School District. He first became politically engaged
in response to Arizona’s immigration policies and chose to work on Hillary
Clinton’s presidential campaign. Hernandez later began his studies in
political science at the University of Arizona. While attending college,
Hernandez served as a campaign manager for State Representative Steve
Farley. Hernandez was a member of Tucson’s City Commission on LGBTQ issues. He is an outspoken
advocate for gun control and immigration reform. @djblp
Omar Herrera
Village Trustee
Ossining, New York
Omar J. Herrera is a lifelong resident of Westchester County, N.Y. and
resides in Ossining. Herrera is the first in his family to graduate college. He
began his studies at Lynn University and completed his bachelor’s degree
in communications from Pace University. For the past 10 years Herrera
has been a member of the Ossining Volunteer Fire Department, board
member and public relations director of the Greater Ossining Chamber of
Commerce, legislative aide for the majority leader of the Westchester County Board of Legislators,
and past vice president of his county political party. He is currently Westchester County’s youngest

Tony Heyl was elected to Borough Council in Bridgeport, PA in 2013, where
he currently serves as council vice president. In addition to his role on the
council, Heyl is the director of communications and public policy at The
ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter. Before joining the council,
he worked in communications for SEIU Healthcare PA assisting campaigns
for nurses and has worked for campaigns ranging from city council to
Congress to Presidential caucuses in Iowa. In his year on the council, Heyl joined his colleagues in
passing recycling in the borough for the first time ever, initiated the borough’s social media presence
and assisted in parking issues. He lives with his wife Karyn and their son Andrew. @tonyheyl
