YEO Bios Emma Pinter City Councilor Westminster, Colorado City Councilor Emma Pinter was elected to Westminster City Council in November 2013. She is a small business owner of a technology company. She serves on the Westminster Board of Building Code Appeals and is a graduate of the Westminster Citizen Fire Academy. Pinter is also the former president of the Westminster Mom’s Club and served on the committee for the Colorado Bar Association high school mock trial competition. @ehpinter Meshea L. Poore State Delegate Charleston, West Virginia Meshea L. Poore was sworn into the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2010. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Howard University in Washington, D.C. While in the nation’s capital, Delegate Poore worked for Congressman James E. Clyburn of South Carolina and interned at her party’s national committee. She went on to obtain a J.D. from the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Poore returned to West Virginia in 2004 and began working as a public defender for Kanawha County. She left the public defender’s office in November 2009 and is now the sole practitioner and owner of The Law Office of Meshea L. Poore. Poore is the vice president of the West Virginia State Bar and a member of the Alabama State Bar Association. @MesheaPoore Britani Potter School Board Member Ottawa, Kansas YEO National Convening | 2015 83 Britani Potter is serving her first term on the USD 290 school board (Ottawa, KS). She has been active in her community for many years through school site councils, advisory boards, coaching youth recreation sports, and other volunteer activities. She is married to David Potter and is currently staying home with her three sons while she works on a master’s degree in family financial planning. She holds a KS Funeral Director/Embalmer license and a KS Insurance Producer license. She has earned three associates degrees from local community colleges and a bachelor’s in business administration degree from Baker University. She is working to change the culture in her community to support and encourage quality educational opportunities for community members, regardless of their situation, through both traditional and nontraditional routes. She believes education is the foundation of life and that what we don’t know today, we hope to learn tomorrow.
