Howard serves on the board of directors for LiveWell Omaha and the Omaha Schools Foundation. She received her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with specialty certificates in tax law and child & family law. Anders Ibsen City Councilman Tacoma, Washington Anders Ibsen is a lifetime resident of Tacoma, WA, and the youngest city councilman serving on the council. Elected in 2011 at the age of 25, Anders’ signature accomplishments include successfully repealing over $13 million in corporate tax breaks and leading the effort to pass the first paid sick and safe leave law in an American city in 2015. His other accomplishments include championing budget transparency, supporting sustainable mixeduse development, and working to provide dedicated funding for mental health services. Anders’ current priorities on the council include creating a loan program for residential solar installation, controlling healthcare costs through municipal healthcare clinics, and leveraging anchor institutions like hospitals and universities to build up the local economy. Off the council, Anders also works as a residential real estate appraiser. His wife Beverly is an attorney and a JAG officer in the Army National Guard. Kaniela Ing State Representative Kihei, Hawaii YEO National Convening | 2015 67 Representative Kaniela Ing, born and raised in Maui, was elected to serve the 11th House District in 2012. As the youngest member of the state legislature at 24 years old, Representative Ing believes that in order to bolster our local economy and advance a fair society, we must care for disadvantaged populations, invest in education, and encourage sustainable agriculture and energy. As a progressive, Representative Ing seeks to usher in a new era of public service and to restore public trust in government by promoting clean government and election reform policies. Representative Ing attended all public schools, specifically the Kamehameha Schools Maui, Maui Community College, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and American University in Washington D.C. for graduate school.
