City Council Member
Union City, Georgia
Shayla J. Nealy is a city council member in Union City, Georgia and a water
resources engineer with Clayton County Water Authority. She was named
one of Georgia’s best and brightest in the 2011 class of Georgia Trend’s
“Top 40 Under 40” list, a 2012 New Leaders Council (NLC) Institute Fellow,
and a Jewell Jackson McCabe Emerging Leader. In her spare time she enjoys
nonprofit outreach, mentoring, and dance. Nealy has a bachelor’s degree in biological systems
engineering from Florida A&M University and a master’s of public administration from Central

Jeremy Nordquist
State Senator
Omaha, Nebraska
State Senator Jeremy Nordquist has served in the Nebraska Legislature
since January of 2009. Senator Nordquist is chairman of the Nebraska
retirement systems committee and is also member of the appropriations,
state-tribal relations, and children’s behavioral health oversight committees.
In 2010, Senator Nordquist was selected to serve as chairman of the health
committee for the National Conference of State Legislatures. Nordquist currently works
for Building Bright Futures, a community initiative that seeks to improve overall academic
performance and reduce the academic achievement gap. He is completing a master’s degree
in public administration with a concentration in health care at the University of Nebraska at
Omaha. He also serves on the board of directors for One World Community Health Center in

Community College Trustee
Chicago Heights, Illinois
Wendell Mosby serves on the Prairie State College Board of Trustees
and is the youngest person ever to be elected to the board. He serves
as public relations committee chair for the Illinois Community College
Trustees Association and second vice president of the African American
Community College Trustee Association. Mosby is a political advisor for the
Matrix Project and the founder of Just WIMP Clothing Company. As a motivational speaker,
Mosby conducts workshops and presentations about leadership, bullying, and entrepreneurship.
He serves as the national fundraising chair for the Young & Powerful PAC. Mosby is the 2013
Jaunita Simpson Award recipient from the NAACP Chicago Far South Suburban Branch. He
holds a BS in apparel production management from Iowa State University. @friendofwendell
