Sean Garballey Carmelo G. Garcia State Assemblyman Hoboken, New Jersey Carmelo Garcia was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in January of 2014, representing the 33rd district that includes the municipalities of Jersey City, Hoboken, Union City and Weehawken. Assemblyman Garcia serves on the transportation, public works/independent authorities, financial institutions and insurance, and human services committees. He has earned several certifications in human resource management from Rutgers University, leadership and organizational development from Cornell University, and was selected in 2012 by NeighborWorks of America to attend the Achieving Excellence in Community Development Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Assemblyman Garcia was the first minority representative to be appointed to serve as the director of health and human services for the city of Hoboken. @CarmeloGarcia Angela Garretson Mayor Hillside, New Jersey Angela R. Garretson was elected Hillside Township Mayor in New Jersey in January 2013. Prior to her election as mayor, she was a Hillside City Council Member for four years, and president of the Hillside School Board before that. Garretson has worked for the Eagleton Institute of Politics and for several community organizations and political campaigns. She graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in business communications and from Rutgers University with a master’s in public policy and administration.
