National Classics Week is the National Junior Classical League ’ s annual celebration of ancient civilizations and their enduring impact on modern society . During this week of festivities , we invite students across the globe to participate in service and publicity projects that give back to their communities while promoting the study of these ancient classical cultures ’ enduring legacies .
Each themed day in this year ’ s booklet contains a short entry explaining the contributions of various ancient civilizations , from Mesopotamia to Ancient Rome , to seven fields of human innovation : agriculture , medicine , law , arts , education , communication , and social science . These are accompanied by sample activities for the celebration of these ancient influences . Please note that our listed activities are only suggestions , and you should feel free to brainstorm other ideas tailored to your school ’ s policies regarding in-person meetings .
