Over the years, the couple also found that carrying high-quality products is important to a dealership’s success. Customers who work with Kelley and Sons Trailers are truly dealing with a family-owned-and-operated business. Two of their three sons work in the dealership full-time and will take over when Tim and Sue decide to retire. Steve, now a 4-year veteran, helps with sales, runs the parts department and maintains scheduling for all service work. Ryan has been working at the dealership for over a year now, unloading trailers, checking www.natda.org them in for sale and performing service work. Their third son would love to be more involved, but he’s an ER doctor. From customers to employees, family has been a running theme through Kelley and Sons Trailers’ existence. “We love spending as much time with family as possible,” explains Sue, “but we also truly enjoy what we do. We enjoy running our business!” Returning the Favor A year ago, the Kelleys were asked to work with Mike Rowe on his Facebook show, Returning the Favor. Rowe travels around the country in search of remarkable people making a difference in their community, then does something nice for them. The Kelleys were asked to be involved in the replacement of a stolen trailer for a gentleman in Detroit that runs a youth leadership program providing free lawn care services to elderly and disabled Detroit residents.
