“ We have become a much more diverse company in the last 10 to 15 years . When the recession hit around 2008 , we looked at the industry to see where there may be opportunities and , by listening to our customers , started making flatbed equipment trailers ,” Varley explained . “ We ’ ve seen a lot of growth in that part of our business and will be announcing a brand-new product in the coming weeks .”
Being able to pivot when the economy declined not only gave M . H . Eby , Inc . the ability to survive , it offered the company a chance to thrive .
Eby focused on bringing highly engineered , factory manufactured , professional equipment trailers to the market . “ We utilized our years of experience building aluminum semis , goosenecks , and bumper pull trailers to design an aluminum equipment trailer from the ground up . We invested in several new shapes , CNC machinery , and facilities ,” said Varley . In 2019 under the leadership of President Travis Eby , M . H . Eby , Inc . opened a new 110,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Ephrata , Pennsylvania to increase production of equipment trailers and truck bodies .
“ We ’ re proud of our flatbed equipment trailers . We ’ re seeing a large growth in our dealer network because of that product and it ’ s opening up a lot of new areas that weren ’ t as accessible when we only sold livestock trailers ,” Varley said .
M . H . Eby , Inc has seen a big increase in their non-traditional dealer base which has helped them reach a new audience . “ We have some great growing relationships with several compact equipment dealers .
