During a live online event, professional leadership coach, Valerie Ziebron, shared her insights on a few successful tools to use when working with your internal teams
At the latest Women in the Trailer Industry Committee online event, High Performance, Low Drama Coaching, industry trainer Valerie Ziebron shared what it really takes to build strong, capable teams without the daily stress. With decades of experience working alongside dealerships and OEMs, she broke down how leadership style and clear communication directly impact profit, morale, and customer loyalty.
According to Ziebron, most shops don’ t struggle because of a lack of skill, but because messages get crossed and priorities aren’ t aligned. Her advice began with a simple challenge: start with yourself.“ Don’ t point the finger, point the thumb.” Leaders set the tone for their teams by modeling the behavior they want to see reflected in others.
Both give structure to difficult conversations by focusing on facts instead of emotion. State what you’ ve observed, clarify the goal, and move on. When a longer talk is needed, use the Two-Minute approach to ask questions, listen carefully, and help the person find their own solution.
Ziebron reminded business owners that real leadership shows up in the everyday moments and how you manage conflict. Ensure you follow through on promises and keep your team moving in the same direction: in the end, strong communication builds confidence, and confident teams are the foundation of a successful business.
Watch the webinar recap to learn more easy-to-apply coaching techniques that can help you better communicate and coach your way to improved performance results and stronger relationships.
Among her most useful techniques were the 20-Second Challenge and the Two-Minute Challenge.
