From Trade-In to Industry Trendsetter

Before he ever sold a trailer, Nadir Virjee ran a boating shop near Toronto, serving recreational buyers. But one unexpected trade changed everything: a customer swapped a boat for a trailer, and the trailer sold before Nadir could even list it. That one transaction led him to a simple conclusion that would shape his next business venture— trailers are everyday tools, and in business, necessity wins over luxury.
Sensing a bigger opportunity, Nadir shifted gears. He secured his first trailer manufacturer partnership just prior to COVID and opened the first Trailers Ontario location in Mississauga in the fall of 2019. When the pandemic hit just months later, he quickly adapted.
As supply chains froze in 2020, he kept his inventory moving by sourcing trailers from U. S. dealers and importing them to Canada. This strategy allowed him to keep his lots full while competitors were stuck with aging inventory. Importing proved more effective than buying locally, where trailer prices were higher and supply was limited, especially in northern regions.
