Undeterred , he set his sights on the park model industry , where again he would run into a similar situation as RV . Still unfazed , Mountain was determined to find his place in the manufacturing community when he realized that cargo trailers were becoming popular for businesses and consumers alike . So with a slight adjustment to plan A & B , everything came together for Mountain when he built his first enclosed trailer back in the early 90s . “ There were only a couple of players building these types of trailers back then and compared to going up against the giants in the RV and park model space , we thought we could be competitive versus anyone building cargo trailers at the time . After the first trailer was built we were able to pick up 2-3 dealers and we were off ,” recalls President Anthony Mountain . The next several years would consist of zig zagging all over the country with trailers in tow , showing them to dealers and very effectively converting those dealers to customers carrying the Homesteader line . In 1997 , the growth would have them breaking ground on a new facility , allowing them the space needed to fill the needs of their growing dealer network , but would also give them room to grow as they had plans to expand the types of trailers they offered .
The early 2000s Homesteader added both dump and horse trailers to their lineup , requiring additional expansion of the manufacturing facility , ultimately leaving them with a 200,000 sq ft facility and an 80,000 sq ft assembly plant . The Stallion series of horse trailers consist of various gooseneck and bumper pull models in both slant and straight load configurations . The dump trailer lineup includes both deck over and low-profile models ranging from 6x10 to 7x18 .
