Timpte has been serving the transportation industry since 1884 – longer than any other semitrailer manufacturer . The company was originally established in Denver , Colorado , where two brothers , August and William Timpte , started separate carriage works shops that manufactured and repaired delivery wagons , buggies and carriages . In 1891 , the founders merged the companies to form what is now Timpte , Inc ., and in 1980 , the company ’ s main manufacturing facility was relocated to David City , Nebraska . The rest , as they say , is history with Timpte celebrating its 137th year in business in 2021 . NATDA ’ s National Account Manager , Jonathan Spiller , talked to Timpte ’ s General Manager of Equipment Trailers , Mark Hunt , about the company ’ s journey into the equipment trailer market and what dealers can look forward to .
