company is very supportive of its employees and it’s definitely one of the best manufacturing experiences I’ve had over my 25 years experience in trailers.” Most of the current production employees have a diverse work history coming from various manufacturing backgrounds, but they’ve all chosen to continue building their experienced careers here at Norstar. Like Friesen, Ruben Rempel, an Iron Bull trailer foreman, also joined the Norstar team in 2015. Rempel believes that “Norstar is a great place to build a career, the company truly values their employees, they’re always looking for great ideas that might help develop better products or more efficient production methods, and management always take the time to listen to any ideas we might have.” Norstar, as a company, strives to develop a clear direction for the future through strong leadership and by bringing people on board who can execute the plans and projects to keep Norstar and Iron Bull growing at a continued rapid pace. This past year, Norstar introduced to the trailer world an entirely new line of consumer-friendly dump and equipment trailers. The Norstar branded trailers are built with regular duty users in mind. This gives those who may not be using the trailer daily or in a professional capacity, the same quality of product as the professional-grade Iron Bull trailers. Loaded with great features, these trailers sport configurations similar to the most popular brands on the market and many of the same features as the popular Iron Bull product line. The new design has been able to match industry standard trailer features and even adds a few features at an excellent price point. Each Norstar trailer is built with a 10-guage floor and 20” tall 11-gauge steel walls capped with board holders. Norstar trailers feature a 6”-12lb/ft I-beam frame on both dump trailer and equipment trailer models. The classic three-way spreader gate that’s been a feature on Iron Bull dump trailers for years is also standard on Norstar dump trailers as well as a roll up tarp complete with a bearing system. Dexter brake axles are also standard on all Norstar trailers as well as a KTI hydraulics system, LED lighting, sealed harness and powder coated finish. A scissor lift with a 516 cylinder along with 110v charging port are also included. The Norstar trailers have seen massive success since their introduction this past July, with the Norstar dump trailer alone becoming one of the top five selling trailer models made available through both Norstar and Iron Bull. This overnight success can be attributed to the dedication of the employees who keep Norstar moving forward and consistently building a quality product that dealers nationwide have grown to count on. www.natda.org NATDA Magazine 25
